Monday Mingle Link Up: Shopping in Clayton, Ga

Now that I’ve settled back at home after our lovely Blue Ridge Mountains retreat, I’ve had some time to look over the treasures I procured in my favorite little mountain town Clayton, GA, so I wanted to share a couple of them with you. We try to get up to Clayton at least a few times a year and for the past two, we’ve spent the holidays there. I must say, I do believe it has become a holiday tradition. Nothing is more relaxing for me than unplugging and breathing in that fresh mountain air…and next to enjoying the outdoor wonders, like Tallulah Gorge, one of my very favorite things to do on vacation in Clayton is to head to the charming downtown area for a little coffee and shopping action.

My go-to java joint is a darling little indie coffee shop called Grapes & Beans, which not only serves coffee, but also tasty local, sustainable cuisine. I make it a point to stop by Grapes & Beans as many times as I can for my cappuccino fix. The hubs and I even had a delicious gourmet dinner there on New Year’s Eve. If you’re ever in those parts, make sure you stop by and say hello to the lovely Darren who works there. She, along with everyone else on the Grapes & Beans team will make you feel right at home. Darren’s a whitewater rafting guide too! That’s on my to do list for this summer, but I digress…

After I’ve had my daily dose of caffeine, I usually head to The Treehouse for chic home goods and boutique clothing, and then Sole Place for my beloved Minnetonka moccasins. Not only did I pick up some gorgeous goodies for myself at The Treehouse, but I found the most adorable owl hat for my lil’ lady bean. That along with my new mocs made for an impromptu mommy and me style sesh!

So, the next time you’re in Rabun County, make sure you head over to my favorite shopping haunts! And now that you’ve seen what I’ve been wearing lately, check out the looks Momtrends and Thirty Something Fashion have styled! You can join us for Monday Mingle by linking up your own posts over at Momtrends.

I like the breath the mountain air too. I don’t like to drive in the mountains though… so if I can get hubby to take the wheel, I’m all for a mtn. vacay. 🙂
