Transitioning Summer Tops

I just loved the summer trends of blousy sleeves and feminine details and I want to keep wearing them while it is still in the 70’s and 80’s for the next month or two. After all I have lot of sweater time coming my way and I’m always giving winter the side eye. But transitioning summer tops into fall can be tricky.

I fell in love with this easy poplin top from Ann Taylor (head’s up its currently on sale for $33!). It’s the right silhouette, length and neckline to go just about anywhere my day ends up taking me. The only catch is that it is so very summery. It just screams for white jeans and sandals. To take this top into fall I went the complete other direction. I paired it with black skinny jeans from H&M and my favorite black lucky brand booties. The combo works on a warm fall day to balance out the summer blue fabric.

Then to keep the fall vibe going I grabbed a coordinating scarf and tied it to my black tote. This also works perfect for when the temps start to dip at night. Our days are all over the place these few months!
