Conversation Heart Brownies
I love a good brownie. Chocolatey, rich and chewy, a good brownie and a glass of milk is high on the list of favorite desserts. What I don’t love is getting snowed in for several days in a row. Which is exactly what happened last weekend. By day three we were all going a little (ok A LOT) stir crazy and I was looking for things Jake and I could do together. Baking is something that gives us a few minutes of quiet fun together. Sure we make a mess, but we also practice skills like measuring and adding. And at the end we each get a brownie soo….yeah that’s winning.
These conversation heart brownies turned out cute and using a box mix made them easy enough for little helpers. Here’s how it worked:
1. Grab your favorite brownie mix and a few boxes of conversation hearts. We tend to get a lot of these as valentine’s each year and now we have something fun and pretty to do with them. They aren’t my favorite candy on their own.
2. Once you’ve mixed up your brownies and have them in the pan ready to go, place the conversation hearts on top of batter. Bake in the oven according to the package instructions.
3. Once the brownies are cooked and cooled, these conversation heart brownies are pretty and ready to eat.
But for added fun, why not use heart shaped cookie cutters to take them to the next Valentine’s Day level?! We had a lot of fun with this and it really is just so easy for Valentine’s Day!
