At this time of year, I often love a warm drink as my dessert at night. It feels good to sip on a sweet hot drink while watching a favorite movie. This peppermint latte recipe is no exception. It tastes like it would take a long time to make, but the beauty of it is that its really quick and easy. I promise, hand one of these to your partner as you settle in on the couch and you will have one happy camper. My husband acts like its his lucky day! If only everything in life were this easy, ha!
Here’s what you need to make this peppermint latte recipe for one.
3 ounces of espresso (or very strong coffee!)
3/4 cup of milk
1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract (Remember, a little of this goes a long way!)
Sprinkles for fun!
- Warm milk in saucepan until you see small bubbles.
- Add in the espresso and peppermint extract stirring gently but well.
- Pour into your mug and top with whipped cream. Be generous, you need a break after all!
- Add fun sprinkles like these mint candy canes if desired.
Ok it’s true. Technically you need a thin layer of foam to be called a latte. But with this much whipped cream instead I don’t think anyone is going to argue that this peppermint latte recipe is a winner! If you choose to go with foam instead, there are some great online tutorials on how to achieve foam in the microwave if you don’t have a machine. I plan on trying it out soon and will report back so stay tuned!
In the meantime, kick back and enjoy! Cheers lovelies!
