DIY Self Care Kit For Moms

Have you noticed that you feel a bit run down as you stare down the end of summer? This harried mama sure does! As much fun as summertime is, it’s also, in a word, BUSY. Between family road trips, various camps for the kids and all the magic I try to squeeze into a break that’s barely two months long, I tend to skimp on one very important thing…taking care of myself. I seem to take care of everyone else but myself.

When I fall into bed at the end of each jam packed day there isn’t much left to give which isn’t exactly a healthy place to land. So, I know all too well how important it is to make sure you take time to take care of YOU! In fact, some of my favorite self care products can be found right at my local CVS and I don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to get them.

The CVS brand line, in particular their CVS Health brand products, are just what you need to build a proper self care kit. What goes into a self care kit you ask? The sky’s the limit! Think about what could help you really focus on yourself. For me that could mean a nice, hot bath complete with mineral salts to soothe my aching muscles and a go-to glossy to read. Or perhaps it’s something as simple as facial wipes. If you do nothing else before you go to sleep, take off that makeup!

You could also include feel good supplements like Calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 or Probiotics. You can always find them in my medicine cabinet. And don’t forget the Acetminophen. Nothing sidelines me faster than a headache…Just sayin’. I love that I can count on CVS Health products like these to be just as effective as any other brand. And it’s just a bonus that so many of the supplements and such that I rely on daily come in chewable form. I’m like a big kid that way. Haha!

Now don’t forget the pampering. You could really go all out with the self care and mix yourself up a nice DIY beauty treatment with coconut oil or whiten your teeth while catching up on your Netflix. I’m a big time coffee drinker so teeth whitening is a must pour moi. Since it’s a regular part of my beauty routine, all those whitening kids can really add up. Thankfully, CVS Health Teeth Whitening Strips are kinder to my wallet while keeping my smile pearly white!

So, there you have it…Some of my favorite self care products. No matter what you decide on, just spend some time on yourself. You’ll be a better partner, mother, employee…you name it!

In fact, I do believe one of you deserves a self care kit of her own! So, we’re giving one away! One lucky winner will take home a summer care package chock full of fabulous CVS brand products! Tweet who you would give the care package to, use the hashtag #FindYourHealthy and tag us @taketime4style for a chance to win. Winner must follow @CVSPharmacy.

This is a GOOD one! I have no idea what I’d do without probiotics, magazines, and coconut oil. My sisters both just became new moms, so I’m inspired.

I love the idea of creating a DIY CARE KIT for a new mom or even a mom who just deserves to put on her oxygen mask first but somehow never has time to do so. I am going to tweet this now too! Thanks for the opportunity!

My sister needs this!! She’s a brand new mom and I think self-care is at the BOTTOM of her list right now! Poor thing!

So funny because I equate summer with relaxation, but, in reality, I’m running around even more! I use a lot of the CVS brand products… definitely going to try a few of these ones here too! Self care is important–especially for us harried moms!

We have every other brand of drug store in our city, but not a CVS. Can you believe that? That’s too bad because they have some great stuff that I would like to have.

It is important to remember to take care of ourselves! I know a bath in salts is a big pick-me-up for me. And the coconut oil is nice, too.

I just found your site through Cheryl’s blog and love this post, especially because there is a new CVS being built by my house. I didn’t even realize they made their own white strips so I’ll definitely check those out. I completely know what what you mean about feeling run down by the end of summer. 🙂
