This simple spring look is cute and easy to pull together! After a long winter it just feels fun to pull out the white jeans and open toed shoes!
See that look on my face? It’s an expression of pure joy! After a long winter, it always feels fan-freaking-tastic to pull out a simple spring look and hit the docks of Annapolis. Oh, and for reference when I say docks I mean dockside bars but you probably already knew that.
My very cool brother always jokes that I’m totally basic. And you know what? I’ve decided that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, the only thing that would have made me happier in that photo is to be holding my beloved Starbucks. #Basic101
To me, being basic with my look also means that i’ts an outfit that is easy to pull together and effortlessly wears. I’m not trying too hard and everything is cute. I mean what’s wrong with that? I love trying out new trends, but sometimes a girl just wants unfussy and cute, right? So, here’s my take on a simple spring look that might just check the “basic” category box.

To start this simple spring look off, begin with your favorite pair of white jeans. I recently bought these white skinny high rise jeans and the fit is great! They have just enough stretch and aren’t too thin.
I then pulled on my new J Crew popover shirt. I love the pale pink and white stripes and cute detailing. It’s a nice airy fit that looks great slightly tucked into jeans. Pair it with black slacks and heels for work and it will pull double duty for you.
For shoes and accessories I had to grab my straw bag. This one is sold out, but I’ve linked to several similar others below. It’s fun and I love how this one has a lining with a drawstring to keep everything inside feeling secure. It’s every girl’s most basic spring accessory, ha!
Remember the Tory Burch Miller sandals I wore so much last summer? I still really like them and they have held up so well.
And that’s all that it takes to pull together this simple spring look. Well, that and some fresh spring wind and an orange crush, but that could be the Maryland girl in me talking.
