Lands’ End Getaway Tour: Must Visit Places in Tampa

This Florida girl loves her hometown to the moon and back…Now don’t get me wrong…My heart is filled with wanderlust and I absolutely live to travel, but I equally love gallivanting around the beautiful city I get to call home. Us Tampanians couldn’t be more proud of our city’s heritage. A big part of that heritage resides in Ybor City and I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Ybor hot spots with you today.

I’m excited to announce that BonBon Rose Girls has teamed up with Lands’ End for the Land’s End Getaway Tour. They are currently making their way through Florida with swimsuit fit experts and their gorgeous swimwear collections. In fact, they’re headed to Tampa this weekend…Here are all the details you’ll need to head over and get your own personal swimsuit fitting!

11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

WHERE: The Shops at Wiregrass

The Lands’ End Getaway Tour will be located between Chico’s and Charming Charlie.

In celebration of this fun filled Getaway Tour, I get to share some of my favorite must visit places in Tampa. I couldn’t think of a better place to go than Ybor City. There is so much to do all within a few city blocks. What I love most about Ybor City are all the beautiful, historic brick buildings. My favorite family photo shoots have taken place right in front of those buildings. You can’t walk even a few feet without running into a gorgeous photo op.

While I, of course, love the Tampa Bay area beaches, there is just something so quintessentially Tampa about Ybor. From traditional Spanish cuisine at the long standing Columbia Restaurant to the cinema in the newer Centro Ybor area that has a trolley line running right down the middle of it, there is something for everyone to do in Ybor City.

In fact, one of my favorite ways to spend a weekend day is to head over to the beach in the morning and stop in Ybor for a Cuban sandwich and cafe con leche on the way back. And whenever we have visitors, we always have to take them to The Columbia for a glass of sangria or two. It’s a Tampa tradition!

For a recent jaunt down to my happy place, AKA Ybor, I rocked my new Land’s End tunic cover-up. It’s the perfect multi-purpose piece to throw on over your swimsuit as it’s totally appropriate to wear later in the day as well. Please don’t hate me because I’m running around in a cover-up right now. Haha! If it’s still frigid in your neck of the woods, I think you just may need a spring getaway…If you agree, you should enter the Lands’ End Getaway Tour sweepstakes! A trip for two to the British Virgin Islands is up for grabs!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my little tour of my must visit places in Tampa…and I’ll see you at Land’s End this weekend right?!?

This post and our participation in the Getaway Tour was sponsored by Lands’ End.

  1. You won’t be seeing me there–I’ll be frozen in place in NY!! I do love that cover up-I would wear it as a dress in the summer to go shopping probably. I haven’t been to Tampa in a very long time and I don’t think I have ever been in Ybor–it looks very interesting.

  2. Ahh my hometown! Although I think I left the city too soon to really appreciate Ybor. All I can remember it for is night clubs and the Gasperilla day and night parade. My brother is actually getting married at the Columbia at the end of the year so I am really looking forward to FINALLY trying their food. Heard awesome things about that place!

  3. Love this post! We just moved to Sarasota about 6 month ago and I’ve been wanting to check out Ybor City because everyone talks about how great it is. Thanks for the mini tour…can’t wait to go for real now!
