Dressing Room Selfies: Summer Must Haves at Nordstrom
Megan and I have been wanting to take you inside the dressing room for a while now and since we were together on my recent trip to NYC and Annapolis, we thought it would be the perfect time to give you a peek at some of the summer trends we’re loving. And this why our “dressing room selfies” aren’t technically selfies because we shot each other, but I digress…That’s not to say that we purchased everything we tried on. We all know that sometimes it takes taking the time and effort that goes into an epic try on sesh to really see what works on your body. Am I right? I will say that we each actually only bought one of these pieces though I loved each and every one on the hanger. So, just because I didn’t buy it, doesn’t mean I don’t recommend it. What didn’t work on my figure might look perfectly fabulous on yours! Ya dig?
Ok, so let’s talk trends…Each season I tend to fall in love with a few colors that I end up somewhat styling that season’s look around. This year, for instance, nautical hues like crisp whites and watery blues have been grabbing me, along with juicy shades like bright orange and coral. Mama always has to have a pop of color. Plus, all of these colors go with my metallic color of choice gold. You’ve probably noticed that I rock metallic sandals and whatnot at nauseum. What can I say? I like what I like! And this year I really like stripes, wide legs, lace details and flowy frocks. You’ll find evidence of all of those summer trends in my dressing room selfies!

So, tell me lovelies…Which piece do you think I kept? I promise that an outfit post featuring it will be coming at you very soon, but in the meantime, I want to know if you can guess what I loved the most! Hint…it’s not necessarily the piece that looks the best in my selfies. Bwah! It actually looks way better in person. Go figure!
And now it’s time for Megan to share what she tried on…I wonder if you can guess which piece she took home too?!

That’s right, Megan chiming in here and I must say, what looks great on the hanger or on one body type just varies so much! I’m 5’7″ and typically wear a size 8 so keep that in mind when looking at the fit on me. And Kristin is 5’5″ and a size small or 6 in most things. I have a long torso and that seersucker shirt below is so darn cute and just isn’t the best look for my body type! Perhaps it would have worked better with Kristin’s short torso. Bwah! We had so much fun shopping this day and having a friend there to help out with photos and commentary makes everything better.

So what do you think I kept? Also, I am now really wanting both pairs of pants Kristin tried on. May have to go back for a round 2!
