How to Wear a Quilted Vest: One Piece Styled Three Ways

1 piece styled 3 ways

You all know how much I love a good style challenge right? The styling aspect of it is a blast of course, but I also appreciate these challenges because they help me break out of the fashion ruts that I tend to get in. Even us fashion lovers get lazy sometimes. And that’s been me lately…lazy, lazy, lazy. Haha! I’ve been working quite a lot and that’s meant some epic yoga pants wearing has been going on. Tim Gunn would be horrified. Just sayin’.

So, I’ve joined forces with Ellen from That Chic Mom and Andrea from Momma in Flip Flops to bring you three takes on a classic winter piece…the quilted vest. And, frankly, this challenge is just what I needed to get me out of those yoga pants! I’ve been following these two fabulously stylish ladies for years and it’s high time we collaborated on something. Am I right?

If you’ve been wondering how to wear a quilted vest, let me tell you, it’s such an easy piece to put an outfit together around. And this type of vest doesn’t have to be put away when winter’s over. In fact, it’s a great season to season transitional piece…whether your transitioning from fall to winter or winter to spring! I chose a CAbi beauty that I picked up a few weeks ago and am enamored with. It’s a fun chartreuse hue that goes great with bold pink lips. You may have noticed that a pink pout has kind of become a signature look pour moi. In fact, I’ll be sharing my favorite new pink lippy with you soon, but I digress…

I chose to style my CAbi vest with a striped tee, distressed jeans, my beloved Rockport buckle riding boots and a bucket bag. It doesn’t get much comfier than this folks. This look is perfect for a mild winter day and mild is pretty much how you would describe most of our winter weather here in Florida. We might not always need coats, but a nice layering piece like a quilted vest comes in handy on those somewhat chilly days. Plus, since this particular vest is such a bold hue, it serves as a statement piece and can totally jazz up my every day neutrals.

So, now that you’ve seen how I’m wearing my quilted vest, head on over and visit my girls Ellen and Andrea to see how they’re wearing theirs!

  1. I LOVE this, I own the same vest and adore the look. Mine is a bit too big for me, but perfect for our cold weather here in the midwest. I’ve never thought to pair the green with the stripes & a bold pink lip. Great style inspiration & thank you love for the collaboration.
