Remember when I said the cold shoulder look wasn’t over a few years go? Well, not long after that I decided I WAS over it, but this summer has changed my mind yet again. I definitely put my money where my mouth is back when I first was obsessed with this trend. Haha! So, I have more than a few cold shoulder tops hanging in my closet.
I actually snagged this little cold shoulder number in a TSF Box Service box several years ago and I’ve been wanting to bring it out to play again for ages. Now that the the weather is just right, it’s time for all my shoulder baring styles to get some serious action!
And being that so many of my cold shoulder tops are front and center in my closet, it won’t be hard to give this trend a try again. Not only is cold shoulder style a flattering look, but it can easily be casual or dressy depending on the occasion at hand. But today, we’re talking easy breezy casual cold shoulder style!
How to Wear the Cold Shoulder Look
Now casual style doesn’t get much more casual than a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans. They’re so casual in fact, that I love to dress mine up a bit with pretty blouses and heels. Today, that pretty blouse is my navy cold shoulder top and my heels are a pair of super versatile espadrille wedges that I picked up at Target, also several seasons ago. They were the best deal of the season!
That’s right. Under $35.00 gets you a neutral pair of wedges that you can rock with nearly all your spring and summer outfits, including your cold shoulder looks! And that’s why you saw them…a lot. Haha! I wore them with my sundresses all summer long too! I still do in fact! Don’t worry, I found you a pair for not much more…
So, the reason I’ve been sharing all my old fashion finds is that I’ve been shopping my closet quite a bit this year. Being that it’s been a very different year for SO many reasons, I haven’t been hitting up my favorite brick and mortar shops as much, so my closet has really been where I’ve turned when I want to change out of my many athleisure looks.
Let’s be real tough, me not wearing athleisure doesn’t happen very often, but when it does at least I’m prepared. I did a total closet purge and organization session not too long ago, so I can actually find my favorite summer pieces easily now.
That purge really helped me take stock of what I needed this season, so I could pop over to my favorite online shopping spots for a little wardrobe refreshing! I highly suggest you get going on your own closet purge if you haven’t yett in 2020. Just sayin’!
So, what trends are you looking forward to wearing this season? Do cold shoulder styles and/or espadrille wedges still land on your list?! Why not rock them together?
