A Nod to Our Favorite Mouse

It is hard to believe it has already been over a year since our Disney proposal in front of Cinderella’s castle! Oh how time flies when you are having fun!

Disney is so special to me, my husband and our families. I knew I wanted to incorporate a lil’ bit of Disney without getting too cheesy! You could say I “hid” Mickeys here and there on our special day. It was a great nod to our engagement and all the special memories that we have made over the years at the happiest place on Earth!

Our overall theme was modern beach, however, I was able to incorporate our favorite mouse without stepping on the toes of the elegant feel of the event. If you are planning your wedding (or any event really) don’t be afraid to mix it up a little and add in some touches that reflect your personality! It is those extra touches that will stand out to your guests and set your event apart for others.

Here are some of the “hidden” Mickeys from our special day…

We stood in a Mickey head of green orchids during the ceremony! I can thank my Disney loving Mama for that idea!

calla lily bouquet

My bouquet had rhinestone Mickey heads on my favorite flower the calla lily.

An adorable Mickey Groom and Minnie Bride on our Cake Table!

So, how did you insert special details into your big day lovelies?

    Love this idea!
Where did you find your “&” letter in your photo booth prop picture? I’ve been looking for one for my upcoming wedding! all of the ones i seem to find are very thin- like you would hang on a wall

How sweet! I love how you incorporated hints of Mickey throughout your special day. The rhinestone on the bouquet was my favorite!

Since my never-before-married husband was taking on me with four children already in tow (brave man), we had oval signet rings made for each child with their initials engraved on them and the date of the ceremony noted on the inside of the band. We incorporated a family ring exchange into the ceremony. Hard to believe that was more than 20 years ago.

Looks like a magical wedding! When I was a little girl living in Tampa, my parents and I used to go to Disney World practically every weekend. And every single time, there would always be some beautiful bride having a fairytale wedding somewhere on the premises. I always thought one day that would be me. Haha! You’re a lucky gal! 🙂

Ah! I’m so jealous of your wedding theme! Since I’ve been married, we’ve been able to do Disneyworld and Disneyland together. I’m hoping to try Disney Paris sometime too!
