Get Your Body Ready for Back to School Season

Now that the kids are back to school, or headed back there soon, us busy mamas have to take a beat and really focus on our well-being. If we aren’t in tip top shape, we’re bound to get buried under our hectic schedule. So, taking care of ourselves should be at the top of our back to school season priorities list! You may remember when I shared my DIY self care kit a few weeks ago. Each and every item that I selected for it was something that I love and use myself, particularly the supplements.

supplements and vitamins

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found that what I put in my body affects me much more than it used to. If I don’t eat well or take supplements and vitamins to support my system I simply don’t function as well. Luckily my local CVS is right around the corner, so I can pick up my go-to CVS Health must haves lickety split. It’s important to note that I have seen no difference between the CVS Health brand of supplements and vitamins versus name brands. What mom wouldn’t want to take advantage of that value?

what's in my bag

Take CVS Health Hair, Skin and Nails for instance. First of all, this supplement is chewable which the kid in me totally digs. Secondly, it noticeably helps strengthen hair and nails. While I had an uber thick mane in my twenties, my hair has thinned quite a bit since I hit my thirties, so I want to hang on to every last strand that I can. I was thrilled to see less shedding and faster growth since starting the supplement.

And I can’t say enough about Vitamin D. Being that I’m very diligent about protecting my skin from the sun, I probably don’t get enough Vitamin D. My doctor thought it would be a good idea if I started taking a supplement with it and very soon after I felt substantially better…I’m talking about being less tired and experiencing less aches and pains! Clearly my body was missing something that it needed. And I love that I can kill two birds with one stone by taking CVS Health’s supplement that contains both calcium and vitamin D!

back to school season

Hey, if I’m going to keep up with these wild little maniacs during our back to school season, I need to be bringing my A game. Thanks to CVS, I can and will be! The CVS health brand includes a wide range of supplements beyond what I talked about, including vitamin B12 and anything else you may need. In fact, I carry around my favorite CVS Health supplements in my bag…just in case I forget to take one. That way I’m aways prepared….That’s a mom’s mantra right? Always be prepared!

Oh yes, Vitas are so important for moms for energy level etc. I found out I have a Vitamin D deficiency after my last physical so I take supplements. Love a chewable option!

I love finding hair, skin and nails vitamins! They rock. And vitamin D is so important. I think we all get deprived here in New England. Our annual trip to Florida in February helps, but vitamins help even more!

I am the same way and feel sooo much better when I’m eating healthy, being active and regularly taking my vitamins. It definitely helps improve my mood too. I need to supplement with extra Vit D because I tested low and I’m really interested in check out these Hair, Skin, Nail vitamins because my nails seem to getting more brittle with age.

It can be hard to prioritize myself and my health as a busy mom, but thank you for the reminder to do just that! I’ve always taken a multi-vitamin (and right now, a prenatal vitamin) but haven’t taken many supplements. Maybe I need to look into that, especially post-baby when I’m at my most exhausted!!
