Giving In To Fall, Five Items On My Fall “To Do” List

Don’t forget to enter our Hazel & Harlow necklace and t shirt giveaway!

Ok, ok so I admit it.  There is a crispness to the air that was absent just a few weeks ago and I have to say…I actually like it!  So, rather than lament the loss of my beloved summer (and poll access to boot), I’ve decided to embrace the seasonal change with open arms.  I took some time over the weekend to think about the coming months and what I would like to do and accomplish.  So here it is.  The five things I’ve decided to tackle during the coming season.

1) To go apple picking and make a home made apple pie.  A’ la mode of course! I’ve never been and this is THE year!

2) Tackle the sanding and painting of a certain end table I’ve been putting off.  If I wait too long I won’t have the benefit of doing it in the garage on a nice day.

3) Host a dinner party.  I’ve been lazy and haven’t had any of my peeps over in quite some time.  I miss them!

4) Finally finish Breaking Dawn, the last of the Twilight series.  I’m still holding out for Team Jacob (with the short hair of course) and am afraid to turn the page and see it turn out otherwise…

5) Find and buy the perfect pair of riding boots. Step 2, wear fabulous boots on a gorgeous Fall day.

So how about you?  Anything on your Fall list?  Did I miss anything other than watch a ton of college football, which I figured was a no brainer?

p.s. The winner of our Bellabini Boutique giveaway is Jenny from Spry on the Wall! Send us your info when you have a moment pretty lady!

apple picking is on my list! I cannot wait to make homemade apple sauce, apple pie, apple crisp and anything else apple I can make.LOL. Also, trying to find the perfect boot that make my hubby scream at me! 🙂

Yey fun post! 🙂 Your fall musts are great. A dinner party sounds so nice! Your friends will love that! Let me know how it goes! You also made me so hungry for apple pie! That would be fun to make on the weekend! Thanks! 🙂

The biggest thing to do for the Fall is to find a job to begin my career. I spent my whole summer job searching and I haven’t had any luck. However, I hope the Fall will bring employment. No one ever warned me that post college graduate life can be a bit frustrating and finding a job isn’t easy as pie.

  8. Emily says

I love the idea of a fall to do list! Mine would include apple picking as well! And decorating our new condo ~ I would love to host a dinner party when it is complete, too 🙂

  9. Amy says

I love having people over for dinner. I need to do that again. It’s just so much work. I feel you on the lazy thing. Oh my goodness and all that clean up! But… playing host is fun!

  10. Deborah Milne says

That’s a pretty darn fine fall five! I’m very partial to the pie & I’ll take Jacob ala’mode too!!

    Congrat’s to pal Jenny ♥ whoop….whoop.

Have a great rest of the week lovely ladies xo xo

  11. Carrie says

I love your list and hope to see you in your new boots soon:)

I’m with you on the apple pie bandwagon. We made apple pie icecream this weekend and it was simply out of this world. I still have a few scoops in the freezer and have to ration it out (post will be up on Friday).

Right now I’m just trying to rest in the moment of Fall’s arrival. The air IS crispier and cleaner, and it is the perfect weather for walking to tea in leggings and sweaters. I’m focused on slowing down to take it all in.

  12. Jess says

I’m still stuck on New Moon but definitely holding out for Team Jacob! Sounds like a great fall to do list, it is spring here so I’m starting to tackle spring cleaning.

  13. Lulu says

Apple pie is most definitely on my list, last Fall / Winter I made 12 apple pies, a few for us but most given to friends. It’s my fave pit to make, and everyone wants my recipe, but top secret of course!

We’re going to re-landscape the front yard over the next couple months. It needs it, most didn’t survive the brutal summer so we’re going another route with more drought & heat resistant foliage. I’m totally excited!

  14. Sandy says

I’ve been thinking of tackling my first apple pie this weekend and that picture definitely makes me want to do it!!!!
Finding the perfect pair of boots is also on my fall list, along with a halloween picnic with my friends, hiking on crunchy leaves with my dog, lots of pumpkin spice iced coffees and if all goes well this weekend, lots of apple pie baking!!!
And congrats to Jenny on her win!

  15. style'n says

I so relate to this list! I made apple pie and apple crisp after apple picking a couple of years ago and I really need to do it again this year!! And I am on the hunt for riding boots too. We also host a wine tasting every fall….but I like your idea about just hosting more dinner parties…so much fun to hang out and try new recipes. Love it all!!

  16. Mama K says

Yum…the apple pie one is a great idea…may have to go with you on that one!

    1) Taking pictures of my son in a pile of leaves 🙂
    2) Getting a lot better at cleaning the house!
    3) and I’m going to add the making a homemade apple pie!

    Happy Fall Y’all!

Well we must be on the same wavelength…I put apple picking on my list too!! Never been and have always wanted to – especially since I can make apple pie afterwards 🙂

  20. La Historiadora de Moda says

What a fantastic list for the fall! I am hoping to go apple picking sometime soon, as well. I also want to have people over for brunch, watch plenty of football, carve a pumpkin, and get us much use as possible out of my tall boots and drapey cardis!

  21. Lucky Dame says

I’m so ready for apple season! I can’t wait to start making some apple pies. Going to the pumpkin patch is my personal Fall fave.

Those boots are rockin’ and it’s all about Team Edward. LOL

  22. Anaiz says

I would love to make a homemade apple pie too! I also want to carve a pumpkin (i’ve never done it!). I watched a lot of college football too, but I enjoy watching my classmates from high school on TV!

  23. Vanessa says

Ugh, Team Jacob deserves someone far less annoying than Bella Swan… She and Edward can go brood in a corner somewhere. (PS- I’m 30, which, yes, makes me a little lame…)
