How to Protect Your Family’s Skin with Babo Botanicals

If there is one thing I don’t mess around with, it’s sun care…especially when we’re talking about protecting my babies’ precious skin. Not only are they very fair, just like their mama, but they have super sensitive skin too, so I have to be extremely careful what I put on them. Sunscreen is so vital these days but I can’t just put any old sunscreen on my kids. I take all the measures I possibly can to protect them from the sun’s wicked rays both by using products that don’t irritate them, like the new fragrance free, hypoallergenic sun care line from Babo Botanicals, and making use of other tips and tricks that I’ve learned along the way.

Babo Sunblock

1. Sunscreen…Being that we live in Florida, we’re in the sun…a lot. Whether my kids are on the playground at school, playing a Little League game or spending a family day at the beach, it’s sunny year ’round here, so sunscreen is a non negotiable. That being said, we’ve tried dozens of them over the years because they so often irritate their skin. That’s why I was thrilled when one of our favorite organic skin care brands, Babo Botanicals, came out with sun care products. I can liberally apply their products throughout the day without worrying about ending up with crying kiddos. Plus, the hubs and I can use them too! In the line you’ll find their Sheer Zinc Continuous Spray Sunscreen SPF 30Super Shield Sport Stick Sunscreen SPF 50Nutri-Soothe™ SPF 15 Lip Treatment and Fragrance Free 30 SPF Clear Zinc Sunscreen which got a 1 (the best) safety score from the EWG!

2. Hats…They’re a must anytime we go out in the sun. Sunscreen is the first line of defense, obviously, but why not up the sun protection even more by shielding their complexion with some head gear? Tip: I keep extra hats in the car, so we’re never caught off guard!

3.  Rash guards…Now I know those teeny swimsuits are adorable on little ladies, but they don’t cover much and when you’re trying to steer clear of sun damage, you want to cover up as much as possible. As you can see from our little model’s swimwear look, rash guards come in awfully cute prints these days.

Sun protection is so important and it is imperative to teach our littles good sun skills from an early age! It is hard to find a good product that works effectively without compromising our bodies with chemicals. We might have to give this brand a try!

  2. Helene Cohen Bludman says

So important to protect that sweet tender skin! I wish we had known about sunscreen when I was growing up.

  3. khrista says

I am very particular about sunscreen and am going to give this one a try. I am glad they have a sports stick. They are so much easier to use on a little one’s face.

I am all about the sunscreen! You definitely have to be conscious of which brand you are using, there are some bad ones out there. I hadn’t heard about this one before so I will definitely check it out.

What a difference a generation can make!
When I was a kid we never wore sunscreen and the beginning of the season I always ended up red as a lobster.
Now I make sure the kids are covered so they don’t have to deal with a nasty burn.
I haven’t heard of this brand before so I am going to have to see if it’s available here in canada.

I would love to try to the spray, although the $22 is a deterrent since I don’t know if I would like it or not. Does it come in a sample size??
