Tops that Will Transition to Fall

It’s hot you guys…I mean HOT. We’re still rockin’ temps that regularly make it to the nineties, but this girl is ready to move on to the next season! Here in Florida, it will be a while before we experience real fall temperatures, but I have my eye on the prize and am making sure that any purchases that I make from here on out will also work when those cooler temps do finally arrive. I’m not on keen on buying new pieces that I’ll only be able to wear when it’s warm. I’m all about the cost per wear ratio coming out in my favor and those odds increase when I can wear something for more than one season! So, let’s talk about how to make sure your new buys will transition to fall…I have a hint…Will it work for layering?!

Take this flowy floral top from my latest Stitch Fix box for instance. It’s a perfect summer to fall transition piece. The print doesn’t scream summer and is, instead, rather seasonless. So, while my bare arms and espadrille wedges definitely read summer, I know that I’ll be able to turn to my flowy floral top in the coming months too! Frankly, I pretty much live in flowy tops all year long. This time of year, I pair them with shorts and later on, it’s skinnies and a cardy if there is a chill in the air.

So, as you too think ahead to your own autumnal wardrobe, think about being selective and carefully choosing pieces that you can transition to fall with ease. Your wallet will thank you!
