What to Wear to a Home Holiday Party
Welcome to the 12 Days of Holiday Outfits challenge! In case you missed the first few days, we’ve paired up with Jo-Lynne Shayne and Cyndi Spivey from Walking in Grace and Beauty to style 12 fun outfits to help inspire you this holiday season! So far we’ve tackled What to Wear for Thanksgiving, What to Wear for Black Friday Shopping, What to Wear to a Work Holiday Party and today’s focus is What to Wear to a Home Holiday Party.
Like is the case with most of my looks, I want my holiday outfits to be fashionable, yet comfortable. And that goes double when I’m hosting guests in my home. As the hostess, it’s my job to make sure everyone is happy, fed and entertained. I certainly don’t want to be in the kitchen all night in an ensemble that is less than comfy. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to look fabulous…It will be my party after all!
One of my favorite formal, yet comfortable pieces is a pair of relaxed tuxedo pants. They go with SO much and you can easily style a holiday look around them. Remember this outfit that I wore to fashion week? It would be perfect for an at home holiday. Neither the flowy blouse nor the pants are constricting and the metallic statement necklace and shoes insert a little holiday vibe into the look. Here’s a tip…I like to start out the night in a pair of fabulous heels, but I keep a chic pair of flats on hand in case I want to ditch the heels later in the night.
I know turquoise isn’t a traditional holiday hue, but you don’t always have to go with red or green. That being said, in case you want to go a more traditional route, I’ve styled a similar look for you with a different color palette.
So, are you planning on throwing your own holiday party this year lovelies? Before you head over to Jo-Lynne’s and Cyndi’s sites for more holiday style inspiration, don’t forget to enter our BIG $250 Rack Room Shoes giveaway HERE!

OMIGOSH you have the best shoes!! I wish my feet weren’t so finicky. I love fabulous heels.
I’m with Jo-Lynne that shoes are fabulous!!! Love your outfit.
Love the shoes!!
Turquoise is my hubbies favourite colour so I try and wear it as often as I can.
I am currently trying to find a dress in that shade to wear to the christmas party!
That is a cute outfit! I wouldn’t want to stand all night in those heels though lol!
That’s why I always have back up flats on hand! 🙂
This is definitely a outfit I would wear. I love the white top – perfect for so many outfits!
I just love the flowy look and feel of that blouse! It’s gorgeous and just has to be comfortable!
I love those heels! They add a touch of pizzazz to the outfit.
That’s a great outfit but I can’t imagine wearing heels like that any more!
Love the blouse. The whole outfit is great.
I love your top. It is a great color on you.
I look forward to this series I never know what to wear to holiday parties, they are always different attire.
Great idea. It does seem both comfy and stylish. I would definitely have a comfortable pair of shoes ready too.
I love this outfit, its simple and chic! That’s my style. But the heels *HONEY* they are gorgeous.
Love the outfit, it looks great on you. The colors go great together!
I really like your look. The turquoise blouse is very pretty, though I would probably opt for the more traditional look with the white shirt. I don’t like to draw attention to myself. Those shoes are some kind of gorgeous, but I would last about 5 minutes in them. How can you host a party wearing them? Do you have any hints on wearing high heels comfortably for an extended period of time?
That’s why I mentioned that I have a chic pair of flats on hand in case I wanted to switch them out! As far as heels go…A cushioned footbed can make all the difference! 🙂
Those are nice pants. I think you’re right, they are perfect for holiday gatherings!
I’ve been looking everywhere for a great pair of tuxedo pants! They are such a polished look.
This is the perfect look for having a holiday party at home! I love those heels!
That’s a really nice outfit. I usually just dress up my jeans. 🙂
That is a very cute outfit.
Super cue! Dressy but still comfy. I love that!
Both are great outfits. My favorite is the one you are wearing. I love the shoes.
