How to Get Your Lips Ready for Spring

If you know me, you know for many moons I’ve been pretty loyal to one brand when it comes to lip color. Every season I get at least a few of their hot new shades and they never disappoint. That being said, for the past few years, I’ve also tried to branch out and include other brands in my lip color go-tos list and one of those just so happens to be a budget friendly brand. e.l.f Cosmetics won’t cost you an arm and a leg and it seriously delivers. In fact, I tested out a few new products that are perfect for your spring makeup bags. So, let’s talk about how to get your lips ready for spring…

Get rid of that flaky pout. The last thing you want to be dealing with when you’re rockin’ spring’s vibrant shades is dehydrated lips. You can try a few different tricks to tackle this. You can exfoliate your lips with a DIY sugar scrub, a washcloth or even a clean toothbrush. But the easiest way to get your lips ready for spring is slick on an exfoliating balm like the e.l.f. lip exfoliator! You’ll walk away with smoother lips that are more than ready to sport those bold lippies.

And speaking of bold lippies…Let’s talk color! There are a couple of e.l.f. lip colors that I can’t get enough of right now…Well, one is a lipstick and one is a lip palette. First, we have their Moisturizing Lipstick in Velvet Rope. It’s a subtle red-orange hue that looks like you have just enjoyed a popsicle…and it’s hydrating to boot. (The Orange Dream color that I shared recently is delightful too. Just sayin’.) My second must have is their Runway Ready Lip Palette. It comes with pink and orange based colors that somehow manage to be subtle and statement making at the same time. And did I mention that their super moisturizing too?!

So many lip colors to choose from! Where does a girl begin. I tend to always stick with rosey red lip colors when I wear lipstick. I keep lip moisturizers in my purse year round.

  2. Laura B says

I must try a lip exfoliator like this because my winter lips are still angry. I wore a more matte lipstick the other day and my dry lips were all I could see. I’m looking forward to more moisturized skin and new lip shades come Spring time!

  3. Paula Atwell says

I don’t wear a lot of makeup but I do take care of my skin. Sometimes that means less is more. Keeping my lips moist is important to me and I keep a lip balm or lipstick with moisturizer everywhere I am. Will definitely take a lot at your lipsticks here.
