Is the Poncho Trend Still Relevant?

One of fall’s biggest trends last year was undoubtedly the poncho trend. You may have noticed that I embraced the poncho trend and then some. It pretty much became my signature look all fall and winter long. If you’re a fan of easy breezy style like moi, I’m sure you loved ponchos as much as I did. They instantly added a little flavor to my t-shirt, skinnies and booties uniform with very little effort required on my part. I may have gone all in with this trend and added one too many to my wardrobe. Haha!

The only question is…will my investment pay off this year? Will I be able to reuse all those ponchos that dominated my style last year? My answer…yes! Ponchos have been around for forever and a day. Sure they were “trendy” last year, but if you go back and look at fashion’s history, ponchos made an appearance in more than one decade. And you can still find them all over the shoposphere, so I say pay less attention to trends and more attention to what you like! If you love ponchos and feel great in them, think nothing of adding them to your fall 2016 look!

In case you need some inspiration for how to wear them, I’ve included a few of my favorite poncho outfits from last year. And if you do want to tackle at least one new trend this year, why not try the duster? I’m not so sure about this one yet, but I’m willing to give anything a try once, so if you’ve seen any fabulous dusters around, do share!

  1. I think they’ll be around for awhile yet!! They are a great, easy cover—especially for the in between weather!
I’m glad because I bought long gloves last year to go with mine, and I haven’t worn them yet!!
