Who wants to see one of my go-to game day recipes? Get ready for not your average seven layer dip! I know it’s summer, but fall will be here before we know it. And you know what that means right? College football season is on its way too! Gator football is one of this Gator girl’s favorite things and now that my hubs has an MBA from my alma mater, the whole family gets in on the orange and blue fan fest. CHOMP! And with game day comes tailgating and barbecues galore. Even if we don’t make to Gainesville for a game, we often host game day parties at our house. Everyone gets decked out in their colors and we nosh on an array of delicious dishes! And because fall in Florida is basically summer part two, we get to enjoy many of our game day soirees poolside!
Go-To Game Day Appetizers
Like I mentioned,one of my go-to game day appetizers is seven layer dip. Now you could make it the traditional way OR you could switch things up and try your hand at my spicy chicken seven layer dip. And because it calls for you to spice “to taste” you can make it as spicy as you want. That being said, any amount of spice can lead to heartburn for this girl. Ever since I had my baby girl a few years back, I’ve been plagued by heartburn. And that, my friends, is no fun, especially during football season! Thank goodness for Nexium® 24HR capsules!

Spicy Chicken Seven Layer Dip
Ingredients:
cooked rotisserie chicken
can of refried beans
taco seasoning packet
spicy seasoning mix
8 oz. sour cream
1 jalapeno
1 tomato
can of black olives
bag of shredded cheese
Directions:
This is really a make it to your liking dish. So, use as much as you want of each ingredient, except for the taco seasoning. You can definitely over season with that, haha!
1. Tear the rotisserie chicken into pieces and coat lightly with the spicy seasoning mix.
2. Heat the chicken up in a pan with a little oil, then set it aside to cool.
3. Chop the tomato and slice the jalapeno (remember to remove the seeds if you don’t like things super spicy!) 3. Line a platter (I like to use a pie plate) with a layer of refried beans.
4. Top the beans with the spicy chicken.
5. Add half the taco seasoning packed to the sour cream and mix. This is your next layer.
6. Next comes the shredded cheese.
7. Then add your tomatoes, black olives and sliced jalapeno! *I actually just throw all those on top instead of meticulously arranging them in different layers. It tastes just as good and is a whole lot easier!
