I’m all about simple tricks to make you look like the hostess with the mostess with minimum effort. Ha!
One of my go-to entertaining tips is to get as much done as possible before your friends arrive. That way you can really relax rather than work away in the kitchen. Because the best part about entertaining is hanging wit your people!
Strawberry Lemonade with Basil
Pitcher drinks are a great way to do this since they can often be made ahead of time and left to refrigerate. I tend to just add ice once the party is getting started and let my friends help themselves. Summer parties are all about what’s easy for this girl!
Have a station on the counter ready with glasses and cocktail napkins and just set the pitcher, in this case, strawberry basil lemonade, nearby. You’ll find that your guests will love the laid-back atmosphere and you can focus on simply visiting with them!
Right now my basil is growing like crazy. I simply can’t keep up with it! So, I’m always looking for new ways to use it in my recipes. The added basil in this strawberry lemonade recipe makes for a pleasant surprise and really expresses the tastes of the season.
The best part about this drink is that you can make the lemonade as is, or add about a cup of vodka to spike it for the grown-ups. How refreshing! Plus, it’s just so pretty! In fact, I do believe I’ll be experiencing with other flavors too. Watermelon basil perhaps? Mmmmm!
