Video: How to Make Strawberry Sauce

Strawberry SauceI’m excited to share this little video and post on how to make strawberry sauce. As you might have noticed from last weeks food hack post, being a busy mama of two has really changed the way I cook. I still love to get in the kitchen more than ever, but now I’m looking for quick little shortcuts that I can use for entertaining. It’s the whole semi-homemade approach. I hope as the years go on and there are a lot less toddler requests happening simultaneously while I’m cooking, that I can get back to more in-depth recipes. But for now, I’m all about simplifying.

A great way to bring a homemade touch to the table is by making a homemade strawberry sauce. It can be used to add flair to a store bought cheesecake, or to top pancakes at brunch. This recipes is the base and feel free to change it up with your favorite fruit. Bottom line is that your family and friends will be thrilled and it only takes three ingredients and a few minutes. WIN!

I also think this video is kind of hilarious. I’m obviously raising a “little me” who literally is reciting everything I say and do back to the camera. Sorry if you can’t understand me thanks to his “helping”. I’ve included the full recipe and instructions below. Enjoy!

Cheesecake With Strawberry Sauce

Strawberry Sauce

1 lb of strawberries, washed with stems removed. I then cut into quarters for smaller chunks.
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions: Place berries in medium saucepan and turn on heat to medium high. Add sugar and vanilla and mix. Leave on heat for approx. 10-15 minutes stirring occasionally and letting the sauce simmer. If you prefer a smoother sauce, use a wooden spoon to break up any of the berry chunks. Let cool slightly and ready to serve!

Note: This recipe can easily be doubled but is enough for a small cheesecake, or serving approx. 4 people.
