Easy DIY Mermaid Party Treats

Who has a party to plan this season? This girl has more than one. Eeek! How does a mermaid party sound? It sounds like a blast right? Ok, let’s talk mermaid party treats then, shall we? I know it’s still spring, but summer is right around the corner. And summer just begs for a mermaid party. I mean my kiddos get out of school in three weeks. That’s right.  I said just THREE weeks! Can you believe that? I don’t know where this year has gone, but it has flown by. Summer is definitely imminent. Since both my kiddos have summer birthdays, it’s high time I get into party planning mode. Like I said, I can’t think of a better summer party theme than a mermaid party!

I know my mermaid obsessed little girl will concur that mermaids are the perfect theme for her soiree. Since she’s also been begging for a pool party, I’m thinking a mermaid pool party at home will be low key enough for this busy mama. Because if the end of the school year is anything, it’s HECTIC! I know I’m not the only parent running around like a chicken with her head cut off. So, I’m sharing an easy DIY mermaid party treat with you just in case you too have a party coming up on your calendar, but you need something simple…Well, I have the perfect recipe for simple. Order some pizza, throw some drinks in a cooler, pick up a cake in oceanic hues and serve up these mermaid party treats as party favors. Easy peasy!

Mermaid Party Treats

What you’ll need:

Silicone mermaid tail molds
Light pink and light blue candy melts
3 small microwave safe bowls
3 plastic spoons
Sandwich bags or decorating bags
Scissors
Edible pink glitter

Directions:

1. In three small microwave safe bowls, add a cup of colored candy melts to each bowl and microwave on 50% power for 3-4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.

2. Carefully pour each color into a separate decorating bag.

3. Place your finger in the edible glitter and gently rub it inside the mold.

4. Cut a small tip off the bottom of your bag and fill your mermaid tail mold.

5. Stretch out the mold and carefully pat it on the counter to ensure every little crevice is fully coated.

6. Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes and carefully stretch out your molds again to remove.
