Family Fun Night: Carpet Picnic
This post was sponsored by Bob Evans.
By the time Friday night rolls around, the whole family is usually pretty beat. And that’s why our Friday family fun nights have turned into at home affairs. Typically, we all get into our jammies, snuggle on the couch and watch a flick that only takes an hour or so for us to all agree on. I know you fellow parents can relate!
This week, I decided to add a special surprise to family fun night…a carpet picnic. Like many wee ones, my kids don’t relish sitting still at the table. So, I spread a blanket out on the carpet and told them we’d be eating on the floor. You can imagine their delight. Who doesn’t love a good picnic…Inside picnics can be just as fun as the ones you enjoy in the great outdoors!

Now like I said, by Friday evening, I’m tired, so I didn’t exactly want to cook our picnic fare. The Bob Evans Family Meals to Go options were the perfect solution. You can pick from home cookin’ favorites like Slow-Roasted Turkey and Dressing, Slow-Roasted Pot Roast, Slow-Roasted Pork and Mushrooms, Grilled or Crispy Chicken Breasts, Slow-Roasted Chicken–N–Noodles Deep-Dish Dinner and more. And at some locations you can find their special Broasted Chicken. Think juicy oversized tenders that appeal to kids and grownups alike. Mmmmm!
It was hard to choose from all the mouth watering options Bob Evans had to offer, but I decided to go for the turkey and stuffing. Each family dinner comes with your choice of one or two sides and choice of bread. Our mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and biscuits were tasty finishing touches to our dinner. As you can see, it was a hit with my babies…Check out that turkey coma! Don’t worry…She woke up when it was time to fire up the movie. Haha!
So, are you ready to plan your own carpet picnic?

That is a super fun idea. We love indoor picnics in the cold.
Yes! Perfect for winter too. I forget about that here in Florida. Haha!
I don’t think my husband would ever go for this! Looks so fun!
Sometimes you have to throw away the rules right? 🙂
What a fun way to enjoy a picnic. These is fabulous who says picnic can only happen outside.
Cute activity. Gotta think outside the box when it is much too cold outside!
I remember doing this with my kids when they were little. It was always a treat for them.
We love having family picnics on the carpet. It is usually what we do on Friday nights
What a fun idea! My boys would love this! And I’m at the stage where I’ll do just about anything to make dinnertime more fun since they’ve turned into picky eaters! haha!
When Friday comes around I’m pretty tired too and just want to crash on the couch or in bed. I like the idea of a Carer picnic

What a fun little cozy idea! You chose the perfect comfort food for a family meal like this!
Growing up it was a rare treat to have an indoor picnic in our living room-usually when my dad was out of town on business. But its a memory I remember fondly. (Ps dinner looks yummy!)
Oh neat – yes and yes again for a carpet picnic. That sounds like a fun time!
We usually have carpet picnics on pizza night and the little ones love it. Taking a break from eating at the table is worth it.
Carpet picnic are a great way to bond with family in a different way.
I do love the idea of a carpet picnic. Bet my kids would too.

I cant remember the last time that our family had a sit down dinner at the table. My kids always eat picnic style.
