If you’ve been around these parts a time or two, you probably know I have a thyroid condition that makes it pretty difficult to lose weight. I can’t eat what I want and just spend an extra hour working out like I used to. I have to be mindful of what I eat and when I eat it. So, is eating at night bad?

If so, I’m in trouble. Not eating at night is hard, especially these days. I have enough on my plate to worry about. Diet is not something I want to stress over. I need an easy to implement program that takes the guesswork out of things and doesn’t doom me from the start.

Basically, I want a program that will help me shed some of the excess weight I’ve put on the past few months, plus I’m always on the lookout for simple ways to find more energy because, in a word, KIDS. They wear me out. Haha!

Enter the Always Eat After 7 PM book by Joel Marion…He answers the question, is eating at night bad and more!

In this book you’ll find a 3 phase plan: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

Should You Eat After 7pm?

According to the book, “Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their daily regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night, and check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day.”

Being home so much has really increased how much I snack, so I could definitely use some help in that department. Haha! And I’ve always struggled with late night hunger. Now I know why…

The most challenging times to curb hunger are just before bed and in the morning. By following the Always Eat After 7PM program, you have the most willpower to stay on the diet because you are eating during the hours when you are most hungry.

This also puts you into both intermittent fasting increasing testosterone and your metabolism, while putting you into ketosis. How great is that? I know you’ve heard you can’t eat past a certain time to be successful with weight loss right? I sure have!

I am so excited to try out a program that seems specifically geared for my biggest diet challenge, not eating at night! Follow along with me and I’ll be sure to update you on my progress!

Frankly, I’m less worried about how I look in a swimsuit and more worried about how I’m going to keep up with these growing kiddos who just seem to have more and more energy with every passing day. Bwah!

Let’s put it this way. My 7 year old has about passed me up on our runs. I need to ramp up those energy levels STAT friends or I’m going to be the slowest person in the fam the next time we take on a race together. Just sayin’.
