Let’s talk about strawberry quick bread. This recipe is perfect to make for all those friends and neighbors you miss spending time with. Drop a loaf or two off on their porches to remind them that you can’t wait for big parties and get togethers to resume! I’m not the only one who desperately misses her people right?!

And, frankly, my stomach is definitely the way to my heart, so if anybody drops something tasty off at my front door, you can bet I will pay you back, and then some, with my own baked goodies. Haha!

You can probably guess what my favorite people are about to receive. That’s right. Strawberry quick bread baking is definitely on the agenda right now!

I’m always on the lookout for ways to make the people in my life smile right now. Times are tough. If you can give someone something to look forward to, even if it’s digging into a freshly baked loaf of strawberry bread, you can go to sleep knowing you tried to make things better!

Super Simple Strawberry Quick Bread Recipe

This super simple strawberry quick bread recipe is the perfect treat to bake to give away to family and friends!

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 50 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 5 minutes


  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of half n half
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 cup of diced strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons of flour (to be divided between the diced and sliced berries - refer to instructions)
  • 1 or 2 large sliced strawberries 
  • /14 teaspoon of Vanilla
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 - 2 teaspoon of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of butter - softened


    1. Heat your oven to 350 degrees. 

    2. Grease and flour a 9 X 5 loaf pan with butter, and flour. (Metal pans work better for bread.) 

    3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, soda, salt, and sugar. Mix well.

    4. In a separate bowl, mix the oil, half n half, eggs, vanilla, and lemon juice. Mix well.

    5. Add the oil/egg mixture to the flour mixture, and, again, mix until well blended.

    6. Sprinkle a heaping tablespoon of sugar over the diced strawberries and stir. 

    7. Sprinkle a heaping tablespoon of flour over the strawberries and toss them in the flour. 

    8. Fold the strawberries into the batter, and pour the batter into the loaf pan. 

    9. Slice one or two strawberries and sprinkle sugar over the berries, coating them in the sugar. 

    10. Sprinkle a heaping tablespoon of flour over the sliced strawberries and toss to coat. 

    11. Place the strawberries on top of the bread in a festive pattern (see photos).

    12. Bake the bread for 50 - 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The bread should be golden brown. If it starts to get too dark, or too browned, loosely place a piece of aluminum foil over the top in a tent shape, but not tightly. (Fold a piece of foil in half and place it over the top of the pan, but not against the bread). 

    13. When the bread is baked, remove from the oven to and place on a wire rack. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan, and continue to cool the bread on the wire rack. 

    14. When bread is cooled completely, make the icing by mixing the butter and vanilla together until smooth. 

    15. Add the powdered sugar and stir, making sure all the lumps are smoothed out. 

    16. Add the milk a little at a time until the icing is smooth, and creamy.  

    17. Ice the bread, and serve.
